Calexico, located on Union Street in the old Schnack location, has got to be one of the best Mexican joints in the city.  Originally a food cart on Wooster & Price Streets, Calexico has expanded its operations and now has three food carts and 2 restaurants.  Their menu is simple, tacos, burritos, tortas, tostadas and quesadillas along with a few sides (Anson Mills Grits, yes), but the quality is fantastic.

Have yourself a carne asada taco and a pollo asada quesadilla, along with a Modelo and a side of grits….mmm, heaven.

Calexico.  Locations in Red Hook and Greenpoint, with carts @ Wooster & Prince, 24th & Bway and Pier 1 at the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
